I took a few pictures, but I can' t post them because my computer and my camera refuse to communicate with each other. The camera tries, but the computer says to ME, "Tell the Nikon Coolpix I am not speaking to him!". I tried counseling for the two of them, reintroduced them, checked to make sure there were no distractions, but they still refuse to talk. So, I have to go find a interpreter someplace like Fry's. Or wait until James comes home with HIS card reader.
So, we unloaded the kiln. Some of the stuff had pretty cool colors on them. A few things were more test pieces than anything. I did get a nice set of small rice bowls to use for a wedding shower gift. I am planning on going to buy six pounds of one of the glazes I tested, because it turned out awesome. I wish I had used it on more pieces! :) The yellow I was testing to make the yellow bowls like my mother's is not quite right...and the bowl had a serious stress crack when it went in, and did not get any better while in the kiln. In fact, it got a whole lot worse. Thankfully, it did not drip all over the kiln shelf! So, all in all, I think this firing was a success. I can't wait to fill it up and fire it again! I absolutely ADORE the anticipation and the surprise of opening the kiln and actually finding something good!
