A wheel, a kiln, a happy potter....

I finally got through to Creative Industries, the manufacturer of my Artista Potter's Wheel. This is the kind of company I like doing business with. They were very nice when I called, apologized for not calling me back as the one person had promised. They had already shipped out a replacement wheel for me! I did not ask for a replacement, they just did it. I probably would have been happy to try a new belt to see if that would help, but they felt that there was something more serious going on if the belt popped off three times in a row. Wow. Such stellar customer service is hard to find these days. You better believe the next time I am in the market for pottery products, I am going to check and see if CI makes them, and look at theirs first.

Thankfully, the old Pacifica is still running well. I have been throwing and have a kiln full of mugs, canisters, and a few bowls, ready to fire. I am waiting on some of the pieces to dry before I turn it on. I am finding loading the kiln as I make stuff sure sure helps the tight space problem I have!

I am really feeling encouraged, and I am anxious to try another glaze kiln as soon as I can. I am now armed with a big bucket of that beautiful brown glaze, and a set of glazing tongs to hopefully get a smoother coat of the celadon.

Life is good!
