Busy weekend!

Friday night we headed over to Happy Hour at Dustin and Michelle's. It was a light crowd, but a lot of fun. James went with us, finally! Michelle has been inviting him for a long time. We stopped at the Dekalb Farmer's market on the way there, and got Maytag bleu, and some other eats. I was rather dull, falling asleep in my chair twice. Thankfully no one laughed at me.

Saturday morning, I got treated to breakfast by my Favorite Neighbor
for a late birthday celebration. I got home and had just enough time to prepare for my pottery student, Tasha. Thankfully, she was running late. We worked for a number of hours. She throwing cylinders, and me kind of the same. Tom was working in the garden, and Brandy came over to help him plant. Tasha and Brandy asked me to throw a really large pot, so I did. I made a bowl about 20 to 24 inches in diameter. It will JUST fit in the kiln! I actually need to go purchase a large bat to trim it on. Tasha was going to leave, but decided to stay and help me do another batch of kids pots for a glaze kiln. We got it loaded and turned on by about 7, then she headed out. (Thanks, Tasha! It was a GREAT help! You ROCK!) Brandy stayed and ate dinner and watched a movie. It was a great day with great fellowship, and that warm fuzzy feeling you have when your friends are caring and want to help.

The only bad thing that happened was I think I broke my toe when I stubbed it on the leg of my wheel. I kept hitting it again and again all day. What a klutz I am! It is a lovely shade of purple today, swollen and hurts like hell.

On Thursday, Laura went to pick Kaeleb up from his nap and this is what she found!

His first time pulling up to a stand! He was SO proud of himself! It will not be long before he is running all over the place. This kid likes to MOVE! That and bounce. SO cute!
