Yesterday I had two of my students...a mom and daughter...help me glaze and load the kiln with the kids pots from the lessons I taught at the school. I slipped a few pieces of my own in there too. There is a charity art auction at church Friday night and I was hoping to have at least one piece to donate. The kiln shut off late last night and is taking a LONG time to cool. I peeked inside and I like the way the new eggshell glaze looks. It is kind of creamy and layered very nicely with the blue I have been using. I pulled on piece out of the kiln and got a few photos to post. This is just a simple jar, with lilies for a handle. I like the way it turned out, except for the fact that the lid warped a bit.
