Subbing

Yesterday and today, I subbed for the art teacher at a local private school. I had a wonderful time working with the kids. I took my new Artista wheel into the school and threw both days for all the classes. They really seemed to enjoy it, and I heard that the teachers were thrilled and thought I handled the classes well. Good, cause the art teacher is leaving next year, and I sure would love her job. I got the opportunity to tell them that too. So, we shall see.

One of the things I made while at the school was piggy banks. I have thought about trying them before, but never did. Boy, what fun! The kids LOVED them...and one of the admins asked me to make one for her. I got four completed that I kept. I tossed everything else back into the clay bag. Now I need to find corks the right sizes for the piggy snouts. :)

I am worried about Snidely, one of our cats. He is losing a lot of his fur, and over grooming himself to the point of causing sores. He is a very nervous cat. I am hoping it is just allergies to the pollen and it will start to clear up. I can't afford to take him to the vet until Tom has a job. Anyone know anything about over-grooming in cats?

We actually got rain today. It was definitely a gift from heaven...I saw a pile of pollen by a drain in the parking lot at the school this afternoon. It had to be at least two inches deep. Gross! The air was much sweeter, and the dry dustiness was gone. I was very thankful for the rain.
