The Pooped Potter Report

Thursday evening, I loaded up a bisque kiln, and turned it on Friday morning. It fired off in less than six hours, and cooled over night. This morning, I opened it and unloaded it. No casualties! I was pretty happy about that. I spent the day glazing. I wish it did not take all day! But it did. I started about 11, and just turned the kiln on 30 minutes ago. Once I got stuff washed up, and came up here to stumble into my computer chair and rest, I realized how extremely pooped I am! I have a few important pieces in this kiln, so I am hoping for the best. One piece is a large bowl that I was making for an order...so it will be sold as soon as I can pull it out. If it doesn't turn out nicely, I am going to want to make it again because the person who ordered it is a big favorite of mine and I would never want to give him anything I did not consider TOP notch. I also worked with preparing paper clay to play with until I get my wheel working again. The parts are supposed to be mailed from California Monday or Tuesday...that puts them here Thursday or Friday, if I am lucky. Then I have to find someone who understands electricity and stuff to put the parts on. I am going to ask Erik...and hopefully he will have time on Saturday. In the meantime, I plan to play with paper clay. It is supposed to be really great to work with, and strong...so I am looking forward to it!

Time for a walk!
