I am wasting money here....but its so much FUN.

I started on my new drug last night. (for those of you medically inclined geeks, here is a link to the phamacology of the drug: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic4/byetta_cp.htm ) It is truly amazing the results I have seen in just two injections. My glucose levels are normal. And I don't mean 'diabetic' normal...I mean real person normal! Aside from a bit of nausea, and slight lightheadedness, probably due to my body trying to figure out why the sugar levels are down so much, I feel great! If the glucose levels remain down, they will begin to wean me off the sulfonylureas, which is what I want. That drug is one that causes the pancreas to kick out insulin continually, but since my pancreas is already exhausted, I just think it is going to cause more problems later on. The new drug works as a mimic of my own response to high glucose in the blood, and has the pancreas only kick out insulin when needed. In combination with another drug, that helps keep the liver from dumping too much sugar into the blood stream, the pancreas gets a rest, and the whole system works more efficiently.

I need to quit testing my glucose levels. Its wasting expensive test strips. Its just so much fun to see those normal numbers coming up....
