Its rather simple actually. McCorkle actually comes from the Norse influence in Scotland... Corkle is a form of Thorkel, or Thor's Kettle. I don't know why the Scots put Mc in front of it...I do know it means son of, or something similar. I guess is it like others who put son on the end, like Johnson, Erickson, etc.
