Checking in....

I have been trying very hard to keep up with my easy goal of three items a day thrown and three finished. I am also trying very hard not to obsess over it, and not to get all bent out of shape if I fall behind. The other day, I threw ten bowls. With a few other pieces added to the set of bowls, I felt like I had really accomplished something! (this is the third time I have done this particular special order set of bowls, and this time I did not do the twist on the handles and they came out of the bisque fine. Hooray!)

I had a shipment of two jars damaged in transit. I was really upset about it. They were the first domestic shipment I had trouble with. Thankfully, the buyer is being really nice about it. I will remake the pieces and send them to her, even though she offered to pay for them again.

I mixed up a couple glaze tests. I have the kiln all loaded and ready to turn on in the morning. It has the special order set of bowls (yay!) and a platter for a special order that I have been have trouble with. My stress level is going to go WAY down if all the pieces make it through the fire as they are supposed to!

I hope to have some pictures to post soon.

Like right after the kiln cools enough to open! :)

No! Dang it. I still have not gotten the right stuff. So, the glaze with the yellow ochre is having to wait till the next round of tests.
